Dental implantogy has developed enormously over the last 20 years and today it belongs to standard stomatological methods. The view on dental prosthetics has changed considerably and these days it is not exceptional that implants are becoming the method of first choice.
An implant is in fact an artificial root which is inserted into the jaw. When the bone accepts it a crown is fixed on the implant.
There is a number of international producers of implant systems. The systems have a common principle, which is ensuring firm connection of the implant to the bone (so-called osseointegration) and thus gaining the basis for fixation of the crown. The implant systems contain a whole set of operation instruments, the implants themselves, all components necessary for making and fixation of the crown and also special training for the doctors. The implant systems are costly all over the world and dental implantology is rarely covered by health insurance, which means it is financially demanding for the patient. Nevertheless the number of patients has been rising as the esthetic and functional effect of implantology is definitely worth the costs.
ITI Dental Implant System produced by Swiss company Straumann belongs to the top implant systems worldwide. It was created and has been constantly improved by a team of experts - members of ITI (International Team for Implantology). It is a one-stage system, i.e. it requires only one operation. Intraosseal and gigngival part of the implant are one piece and the healing happens uncovered - after the insertion a part of the implant is seen above the gum.The second stage is usually unnecessary. The design of the implant provides good stability and its specially treated surface of titanium - SLA reduces the healing time up to 6 weeks. The system of abutment and crown fixation is also precise and contributes to high success rate and reliability of the Straumann implants.
IMPLADENT - in our opinion the best of Czech implant systems produced by LASAK company
It is a two-stage system, i.e.the healing of the inserted intraosseal part of the implant happens under the gum. After 2 or 6 months the second operation is necessary, we remove the gum covering the implant and screw in the healing cup. In 2 or 3 weeks the cup is replaced by prosthetic abutment for crown fixation.
The system is universal with a good technical and scientific background. The main advantage of the IMPLADENT system in comparison with the other foreign systems is its lower price affordable to most clients.
CRESCO TI System is a Swedish implant system produced by Cresco Ti System AB company. The implant itself is a selftapping titanium screw with a sandblasted and acidetched surface. The main advantage of the system is its unique principle of fixation of titanium bridge construction with precise passive fit.
We use this system successfully to construct the large screwed fixed dentures (bridges) in edentulous jaws. There is one metal used (pure titanium) for the implant as well as the bridge.
